The internet being the online version of the Wild West that it is, we have found it
necessary to impose some message board rules. Please read and respect them. The TOGs website is privately owned and run for the benefit
of anyone who wants to make use of the old place.
The first and most important rule is that I get to
make the rules. If anyone thinks their rights have been infringed, or they have been
unfairly treated, please feel free to contact the United
Nations. They might take up your case.
- Please try (as far as possible) to
leave the real world behind when visiting.
- Spamming is a no-no. Spamming is either advertising
for something (like a get rich quick scheme) or anything that looks like a chain letter.
(I.E. Here's an angel to brighten your day, forward this to five people or your legs will
fall off). Almost all virus warnings, cookie recipes, and stories about children with
cancer that you receive on the net are not true and qualify as spam.
- Profanity. We really hate censorship, and have been
known to use the odd rude word ourselves (except Peek of course), but one of the conditions of the boards is that a
profanity filter is required. In general, just use your best judgment - and the edit
button to 'refine your posts'.
- Racism, homophobia, or religious intolerance are
taboo. Please don't even think about posting anything that might fall into these
categories.
- Bullying will earn you a quick
exit.
- Respect the right of others to have views different
from your own.
- If you like being here, don't annoy the moderators.
- TOGs are a sympathetic lot, but
don't take advantage of that. If your only contribution to the site is
to bemoan your lot, do it somewhere else. This is supposed to be a fun
place.
- Finally, continued violation of the rules (or being a
general pain) will get you deleted/banned. This site uses name, e-mail, and IP address
blocking. In most cases you will get a 'yellow card' and given a chance to play by
the rules. Use a little common sense and you'll be fine.
We can be found
HERE if required. But we're not really interested
in discussing the rules.
